The information available in the new Google Analytics can be quite bewildering, but here’s a quick way to get the web stats you need
Most people will have tried the new Google Analytics by now, if only to see what it is like and what it can do.
Seems quite difference to the old version
In use it actually seems quite different to the old version, which can make it even more challenging to quickly get the visitor information on your website that you need.
So I’m going to outline below the reports I have found will quickly give me the basic information about a site I need.
Set your chosen date range
First choose the date range from the top right.
Now click on the “Standard Reporting” tab
First click on the “Standard Reporting” tab (the tabs are in the orange bar along the top, Home, Standard Reporting and Custom Reporting). You’ll know you’re in Standard Reporting because you’ll see the main navigation item down the right side, starting with “Audience”. This is where you can quickly gather the information you need.
How many visitor has my website had?
To find this out, click on “Audience” and then click “Overview”. This will show you quick information about the number of visits, the pages visited, bounce (visit without a click, lower is better) and the average time spent.
