What do you want to achieve with social media?

Analytics Conversion Goals are simple to set up.

First thing is you must have Google Analytic running on your website. If you haven’t done this yet we’ve written a short Guide.

Find the right page on your website.

Next you need to visit your website and find the best page to use at the conversion point. If you want to track an enquiry, this would be the page after someone has completed the form, normally the thank you page.

Find the right page

If you wanted to track a sale, then you’d need to find the final page they end up on when they’ve finished the checkout, such as the “thank you for your purchase” page.

Next thing to do is visit Analytics and click on “Analytics Settings” in the top left. Instead of clicking on View report, click on “Edit” on the far right.

Under the heading “Goals”, click on “Add goal”. Give the Goal a name, such as “sale complete” and then click “URL Destination” below.

Add the URL as a Goal

Paste the full URL you saved from your website as the conversion point, into the “Goal URL” box. Click “Save Goal” at the end.

Now over time you will see the conversion goals appear in the Goals tabs available in many of the Analytics reports.
