In my experience if you create plenty of good quality web pages on your site’ that you visitors will want to read; over time, the traffic from the search engines will increase.

The most likely reason for this is that the search engines are very focused on identifying good quality web page content, and sending their visitors to it.

One of the challenges with creating new content is coming up with ideas on what your visitors are liking the most from your current pages. Obviously you can trawl through your web stats to find this, but there is a much easier way with Google Analytics.

First open the new Google Analytics. Click on the “Standard Reporting” tab and then from the left side navigation click on “Content”. Click on “In-Page Analytics” from the drop-down. In the window you should see your website with coloured graphical call-outs showing the percentages of clicks that link received.

Now start browsing your site within this window and make a note of the percentages of the various links going to different pages on your site. From this you should get a good idea of which pages people most what to click on and visit, and this should give you ideas for further content, that people are more likely to read.
