This makes tools that analyse backlinks especially useful and in demand. Since the demise of the Yahoo Site Explorer, fast simple free backlink tools have been a little short in supply. That is until AnalyzeBacklinks.com from SEOtrackr, came along.

Very simple and quick keyword research tool

The tool is very simple to use. Just visit their homepage at: www.analyzebacklinks.com. Enter your domain name in the box near the top. You need to enter it without the www, so mywebsite.com instead of www.mywebsite.com.

There are a few options such as not repeating backlinks, or show only from homepage, but I generally leave everything as it is except I tick the “Yes” box: “Find Anchor Text, Total Links, Outbound Links”. It does take longer to run, but you get much information, so I think is worth the wait.

Your list of backlinks will appear quick quickly

Once you’ve entered the domain and chosen the options, click the “Begin” button and sit back and wait. Actually the backlink list will appear quite quickly, but if there are quite a few it may take a while for the whole list to display.

The list seems to be ordered with the most important sites listed at the top. You get information about the anchor text, total links, outbound links, page title and text found, the last two often seem to be blank – I don’t know why.

Over on the right, you have a very simple way to build a backlink list (very useful for looking at competitors backlinks). Just tick the box of each one you want to select, or click “Select All” and then click the “Generate Backlinks List” button. You’ll instantly get a text list of all those backlinks you can save or print out to use.
