Or can I just add the Google Translate Gadget?
If you want to target your products or services in another country you’ll need to consider whether there is a benefit to offering the relevant pages or even a whole website in the county’s native language.
Which countries are you targeting?
Obviously your decision will depend to some extent on which countries you’re targeting and more importantly how many of extra potential visitors you can gain over just having the website in English.
We’ve found mixed success with multiple languages on a website. Generally we’ve found it works better to develop a complete country specific website (which can be a micro-site of just a few pages), using that country’s domain extension.
Google Translate Gadget
Obviously there is a bit of cost and work involved with all this so another alternative is simple to plug in a Google Translate gadget which we’ve found also seems to work quite well.
