More and more people using WordPress for websites

Of course WordPress is well know as the preeminent bloggers platform, but more and more people are now using it just as a website, and very successfully as well.

Lower cost than traditional website

I’ve now been involved in helping quite a number of people move their websites over to WordPress, and I never cease to be impressed in how it’s been able to achieve whatever is needed; and often at a much lower cost than using the traditional path.

Can you use WordPress to make a website? — 7 Comments

  1. Setting up can be a little tricky, especially if you want your own domain name but there after it’s great to have control. Built mine on a theme too, love that I can add little fun plugins such as bunting for this weekend and can add and change bits whenever I like.
Still learning, especially with seo – like picking up your tips – and still enjoying it.

  2. I will be using WordPress to build my new website. I am rather new to the platform, but it is user friendly. Thanks for the alert re your Introductory WordPress tutorial…your membership is good value (will utilise your services in the near future). And thanks for providing some really great information via your website and Twitter!

  3. I totally agree – WordPress is absolutely the way forward. There are some great developers with some amazing themes that work with all the major functions that WordPress can offer. My site is built (albeit modified heavily) from a template and does me very well. You’re spot on about the Page Speed issue though; WP can be heavy on calling PHP functions so a caching plugin can help enormously along with standard Gzip or Zlib compression at the server end.

Love the site you’ve put togwther too – very engaging and informative, thanks very much!

    • Hi Swarez,

Thanks for your comment and feed back.

Yes, there seems to be no limits on what WordPress can do, especially with so many people developing themes and plugins.

I had a look at your website and that is a great example of a WordPress site that doesn’t need to look like a blog.
